Santa Eulària del Río

Santa Eulària, a village located to the east of Ibiza and the second most visited of the island, is a perfect destination if you want to discover beautiful places and tranquility at the same time. It is the only village that has a river within the whole territory of the Balearic Islands.

Puig de Missa, Ibiza

Historical Center of Santa Eulària, Puig de Missa

The Puig de Missa church, located at the top of the highest hill in the village, is a clear example of traditional Ibizan architecture. This beautiful church reminds us in its form, color, construction and enclave to the most beautiful villages of the Greek islands. The church is one of the four fortress temples that were constructed for protection against the attacks of the Turkish corsairs, along with the temples of Sant Miquel, Sant Jordi and Sant Antoni. Below this beautiful church it is possible to see the flour mills, so in this village one of the most traditional activities has been the production of flour. In addition, it has a pleasant promenade, a marina and a beautiful Roman bridge.

The coast that surrounds this picturesque village consists of beautiful sandy beaches such as Cala Llonga, Cala Llenya or Cala Martina in Es Canar; where on Wednesdays you can enjoy the most authentic hippy market on the island, the Hippy Market Punta Arabí.

Sant Carles de Peralta

This historic village is located on the east of the island and just 6 km from Santa Eulária. It is a small village that was one of the meeting places of the first hippies of Ibiza in the seventies and therefore has always had an intense cultural activity.

Sant Carlos, Ibiza

Church of Sant Carlos

There has passed through this village in their relative times great musicians, artists and intellectuals.

It is nestled in one of the most rural settings of Ibiza, surrounded by crops and full of almond, fig and carob trees along with their lovely typical houses. Its church, built in 1785, with a large porch and a unique bell tower, is surrounded by gardens next to a traditional well.

Today, this village has a very cosmopolitan atmosphere around the traditional “Bar Anita”, known for its delicious and popular “hierbas ibicencas”. It is an emblematic place from which the post is distributed through all the houses of the municipality and where you can observe their curious old postboxes.

A few minutes drive from the village, you will find beautiful beaches such as Aguas Blancas, Pou de Lleò, Es Figueral, Cala Llenya and Cala Boix.

Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera

Beautiful inland village, located in the center of the island and 16 km from Sant Carles going along the road to Sant Llorenç. In this village you can relax at lunchtime, or if you prefer, just take a walk and discover the beautiful surroundings with your partner.

Santa Gertrudis Main Square

Santa Gertrudis has become one of the most charming villages on the island of Ibiza. Its beautiful white houses and its distinctive surroundings, created by artists and sculptors who fell in love with this place, have contributed over the years, to make the village stand out with its own peculiar charm.

In the historical center of this village is the church, built at the end of the 18th century, and its main square with various traditional restaurants.

Also, around the main square intermingled with the restaurants/bars of the village you can find craft shops and curious antiques. Walk through its streets and immerse yourself in one of the best rural atmospheres of Ibiza while contemplating the very original shops.

Sant Miquel de Balansat

Located in the north of the island and about 7 km from Santa Gertrudis, is another of the beautiful and secluded places of the island of Ibiza to visit. Therefore, we propose to finalize your visit of the day in this small village. Here you will find good restaurants for dining lined up along and from the main street. The Church of Sant Miquel de Balansat, is built on the highest part of the hill of the village.

Sant Miquel, Ibiza

Church of Sant Miquel

This church is one of the fortified monuments that were constructed to protect the population from the invasions of the corsairs. However, this temple has a special feature which  is unusual from a historical point of view, being the only one on the island that is built as a cross in the shape of a ‘T’. The views of the village, sea and countryside from the surroundings of the church are beautiful.

If you have the time, visit El Puerto de Sant Miquel, where you will find a white sandy beach, surrounded by exuberant natural beauty. In addition, you can visit the most famous caves on the island, the caves of Can Marçà. A good option on a rainy or cloudy day.

We hope you enjoyed the route.
