Do you know what golf is? Golf is a sport practiced and known worldwide, which consists of introducing golf balls into the hole of each green on the course, in the least possible number of strokes. A sport that is increasingly practiced in all places and social areas, where you are always in touch with nature and your ability to concentrate increases substantially. With golf you are practicing a sport while breathing fresh air and discovering new and amazing landscapes.
In golf there can be up to 18 holes, each with its own amazing course (fairway), which can be par 3, par 4 or par 5, depending on its length. When starting the game, the golfer uses a small support called a ‘tee’, which is pushed into the ground, placing the ball on top. The player uses the tee for the first stroke of each hole.

You should know that the each stroke of the ball that the player makes to arrive at the green and corresponding hole is called the “approach”. A strokes that is flush with the grass, usually made on the Green or around the hole, is called a “putt”. Golf has a very technical language, however, learning each one of its terms is a great adventure, since you learn as you play, which makes it something that you will never forget.

Golf Ibiza has two courses, 18-hole and 9-hole, with very different characteristics, located in an area of valleys and mountains bordering the coastline. There is also the Hoyo 19 Restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant where you can enjoy beautiful views and exquisite cuisine.

18-Hole Course

The 18-hole golf course, known as “Golf de Ibiza“, is characterized by a very technical course that runs through the countryside, among pine trees and spectacular views.

 Each of its 18 holes receive a name that characterizes it in an aesthetic or geographical way: 1.Las Sabinas (The Junipers), 2.El Lago (The Lake), 3.Es Nanu, 4.Las Adelfas (The Oleanders), 5.Scarface, 6.La Cala (The Cove), 7.El Everest, 8.Bell Lloch, 9.Versalles, 10.El Gusano (The Worm), 11.El Algibe (The Well), 12.La Roca (The Rock), 13.Las Jazmines (The Jasmine Shrubs), 14.Los Olivos (The Olive Trees, 15.Amazon River, 16.Amen Corner, 17.Los Gaviotas (The Seagulls) and 18.El Anfiteatro (The Amphitheater). For example, Hole 7 is located in a spectacular ascent from where you can observe the sea and Hole 14 is characterized by its precious old olive trees, hence the names. The design of this course for the game is incredible and a real challenge for golf lovers in all its modalities. A full round on this course would take about 4 hours.

9-Hole Course

The 9-hole course is known as the “Roca Llisa” course and is a fantastic course for the player who only has a couple of hours to enjoy golf.

Its characteristics, flat and open, make it very attractive for all types of players, both beginners who will find an agile and clean game pace, and experienced players, as the bunkers and trees are well positioned in the first 4 holes and with the different lakes in the last 5.

Golf Ibiza, began to be operated under the management of the hotel chain azuLinehotels in February 2017. The two golf courses and all areas and facilities were upgraded. The result has been spectacular and we are very happy to be at the standard of a great golf course and offer all golfers and nature lovers the possibility of practicing this great sport in a unique environment in Ibiza.
