Ibiza’s Fascinating Lighthouses
Ibiza has a lot more to offer above its 572 km2 surface than you might have thought. And to prove you so, we’ll go beyond the perfect beach Holiday under the warm Mediterranean sun or the sleepless nights dancing to your favorite DJ in the world’s most famous clubs, and we’ll take you to all the seven Lighthouses of Ibiza.

Moscarter Lighthouse
Located in the North of the island, this 52 meters-high Lighthouse it is the tallest Lighthouse in the Balearic Islands. It opened on the 1st of November of 1978 and it is operated by local technicians from El Faro de Botafoch.
Punta Grossa Lighthouse
The Punta Grossa Lighthouse, located in the North of the island, opened on the 15th of September of 1870 and operated for over 4 decades. After the Tagomago Lighthouse was built, keeping Punta Grossa’s light alive was considered unnecessary and went out of service on August 1st, 1916.
Tagomago Lighthouse
This beautiful Lighthouse opened on December 1st, 1914 on Tagomago isle, a small isle located off the shore of Santa Eulalia. It’s 23 meters high and it was built with the purpose of replacing the Punta Grossa Lighthouse.
Botafoch Lighthouse
If you arrive in Ibiza by boat, one of the first things you’ll spot it’s probably the Botafoch Lighthouse on one side and the historic Dalt Vila on the other side. This Lighthouse is 16 meters high and it was opened on November 30th, 1861.
Faro Dels Penjats-Ahorcados
Faro Dels Penjats-Ahorcadas, or Hanged Man Island Lighthouse in English, is a 17 meters tall Lighthouse opened in 1856 and was named after the islet in which it is located. Reaching the Lighthouse was considered to be an extremely dangerous back then; therefore, it was the first Lighthouse to be operated automatically in Ibiza.
Faro del Vedrà Lighthouse
Located on the infamous islet of Es Vedrà, one of Ibiza’s most renowned stamps sits Faro del Vedrà, a hard-to-reach Lighthouse opened in 1927. Countless myths and legends surround Es Vedrà, making this spot one of the most mysterious and fascinating places in Ibiza.
Na Bleda Plana Lighthouse
This small and marvelous Lighthouse is located on the small islet of Na Blesa Plana. It was opened on June 7th, 1924 and it is considered to be located in the westernmost point of any of the Lighthouses of Ibiza.
Conillera Lighthouse
The Conillera Lighthouse is an 18 meters tall Lighthouse located in the Sa Canillera islet, a small islet off the West coast of Ibiza. On clear days its silhouette is clearly visible from the coast of San Antonio.
Coves Blanques Lighthouse
This Lighthouse is located in San Antonio and it was opened on September 15th, 1897. It stopped operating in 1970 and today it serves as a historic Museum in Ibiza.
